Minister Dinesh displeased with CID investigation

Minister Dinesh Gunawardena is reportedly displeased with the investigation being conducted by the CID in to several low lying lands given out by him during his tenure as Urban Development Minister.

The CID had initiated the investigation claiming that the lands given by the Minister to one of his Lady friends was illegal and has already questioned several official at the Land Reclamation and Development Corporation and two officials at the Urban Development Authority about the respective issue.

Minister Dinesh has informed of his displeasure to the CID investigation being carried out based on an anonymous petition received by them.

  The Land Reclamation and Development Corporation and the Urban Development Authority are now under the purview of Defence Secretary Gotabhaya Rajapaksa.
